Magick in Theory & Practice (Subscriber's edition) by Master Therion (Aleister Crowley)

Published for Subscribers Only. Printed at the Leicram Press, Paris, 1929
Hardbound, XXXIV + 346 pages

Condition: Hardbound in maroon cloth with gilt lettered spine and top edge gilt. Clean, unmarked text pages, weak binding with webbing showing at hinges, dust soiling to fore and bottom edges, tanning and mild soiling to inside covers and endpapers, two owners' names written in ink on upper front endpaper, creasing to front endpaper and first title page, mild soiling and rubbing to spine and covers, strong rubbing and slight bumping to top and bottom of spine and corners of covers - in all a good copy of this very scarce first "for subscribers only" edition.

Information taken from previous listing of same edition at Weiser Antiquarian:
"Maroon buckram with gilt title etc to spine, top edge gilt. The best issue (bound in buckram with top edge gilt) of the first hardbound edition of Crowley's magnum opus, "Magick in Theory and Practice." Crowley originally had the book issued in four parts, each in paper wrappers, and with an additional color plate, but was apparently disatisfied with the result, and had the plate removed, a new title page prepared, and had most copies disbound and rebound in a durable cloth or buckram, to make this, the 'Subscriber's Edition'."
