"If ye will listen to this lay but a little while,
I will tell it forthright as I heard it told in town,
As it is set down in story that cannot be changed,
Long written in the land in true words."
Told and retold, re-translated, and re-imagined through the centuries, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight was originally written in Middle English, circa 1350 CE, by an unnamed author.
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight has become part of the rich story-soil from which the forest of modern Western literature has grown. The journey undertaken by Sir Gawain is a familiar one, even to those who have not yet heard its telling, nor trod its course.
Working together, Mark Penman and John Reppion have faithfully adapted the tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight into a 44 page comic.
With forward by Alan Moore.
