Taro As Colour (deluxe edition) by Ithell Colquhoun

Description

The deluxe edition of Taro As Colour by British surrealist and occultist Ithell Colquhoun, published by Fulgur Press, is a meticulously produced, high-end version of her 1977 abstract tarot project. This edition translates her original enamel-on-paper, "psycho-morphological" studies into a 78-card deck and accompanying text that eschews traditional, figurative tarot imagery in favor of pure color, motion, and form based on Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn color scales

Gold and misty white marbled end papers; all edges gilt, quarter bound in true Vellum, with the colored boards corresponding to the representative card, and placed in a fine black silk dual section slip case with fleece lining, which has the elemental Earth sign pressed in gilt. Contents include: a scholarly introduction by Dr. Amy Hale; a contextual essay by Ithell Colquhoun; seventy-eight enamel taro card designs, reproduced in six colors; and an index of correspondences, citing esoteric names, traditional tarot names, and a scale of colors and Cabalistic letters. Printed using the latest techniques of six-color offset lithography, the images are augmented with gold and silver inks, and gloss coated, to better emulate the original enamels. Edited by Amy Hale and Robert Ansell.

Deluxe Edition, Lord of Great Strength on the cover, Limited to 78 Copies.
