The Tree of Life (1st edition) by Israel Regardie

The Tree of Life: A Study in Magic
285 pages with b/w frontispiece and 6 plates in b/w and colour, hardbound in black cloth with gilt lettered spine, published by Rider & Co., London, 1932.

Clean, unmarked text pages, firm binding, mild dust soiling to edges of text block, owner's name written on front endpaper
- in all a very good copy of this scarce first edition. Dust jacket with slight soiling and small losses to extremities of spine and corners of flaps.

Additional information on this edition from a previous listing on Weiser Antiquarian:
"The First Edition of Regardie's comprehensive exposition of magic (...) The work draws heavily from the Golden Dawn (and other) material published in Crowley's "Equinox" series. Regardie's references to the Golden Dawn sparked much debate in its survivals - the Alpha et Omega and Stella Matutina, and ultimately led to him being invited to join the latter Order. "
